The theme for this gig was "prim" to juxtapose with the Sisters "Grimm" who
played after dragsterbarbie. The barbies wre sporting a kind of a 50's look with
poofy skirts, which looked cool and definitley contrasted with the tarty outfits of
Marissa and Victoria Grimm. I was particularly amused by Kelly's party dress and
high-top Connies combo. I guess they just don't make a good set of heels for
drummers. :-)
The first thing I noticed when they started playing was that Amy wasn't playing her Silvertone! Instead, she was using a brand-spankin'-new Danelectro. Since Teresa usually plays a Dano bass, they're the Dano power-twins. Now if Dano would only start making drums... dragsterbarbie played a fairly short set, highlighted by Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, which is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I bought a CD for a friend of mine, and they kindly offered to autograph it. Soon, they were signing CDs for several people. I guess I'm an "international male trendsetter". Enjoy the pictures - |
