Buck at Linda's Doll Hut

Once again, I showed up "on time" at Linda's for a show and I was the only one there besides the employees and the band. Actually, Buck wasn't even all there, just Lisa and Pepper. Over the next hour people started trickling in (and Corky as well), and they had a light crowd by the time they started that turned into an average-size Linda's crowd by the time they were done. I got the impression that most of the people there had never seen or heard Buck before, as after the show I heard a general buzz of "Wow, those guys were good" in the audience. Hopefully, Buck added a bunch of new fans at the gig and sold a bunch of merch (so they can buy a new van).The set they played was heavily laced with songs from the CD, notably Old Blue Sweater, which I haven't seen them play in a while, and Sucker, which I'd never seen them play. They played You Fuck Me Up for Steve, and they also played one new song for which Lisa had a lead sheet (but she didn't need to use it). |
