Third Thursday for March opened up with two artists with great senses of humor, Kristian Hoffman and Wayne Resnick. I think Hoffman's The Fool is Back Upon the Hill was written about Bill Clinton, but it was equally poignant applied to Dubya (as if he's just a cookie cutter of daddy). Wayne's somewhat darker humor was equally well received, of course, and Wendie Colter even got up and sang a song that she co-wrote with Wayne. After Wayne wrapped up, there was a surprise artist. John Wicks (The Records) happened to be in the audience, so with a little coaxing from Wendie, he got up and played his hit song Starry Eyes. Receiver (TAFKAK - The Artists Formerly Known As Kickstand) played next, with Don Mogill filling in on guitar for Will, and Brian Kassan sitting in on keys. I left after that, since I had to be at work early (new job, so I couldn't stay till 1 and then show up at noon the next day :-). Enjoy - |
